Am Chris Worrell wins Oklahoma Open
EDMOND, Okla. (Aug. 25, 2013) -- Amateur Chris Worrell fired a final-round 3-under 67 to close out a miraculous run and win the 2013 Oklahoma State Open at Oak Tree Country Club.

Worrell, a recent graduate from Tulsa University, fired a second-round 64, which put him into position to lead.

Worrell topped Zechariah Potter, Jason Meece, Coy Breen, Kevin Kring, Justin Bardgett and Oscar Stark by three shots. That group finished tied for second place.

Amateurs Tyson Reeder and Matt Mabrey tied for eighth place while Thomas Johnson took 12th.

ABOUT THE Oklahoma Open

The Oklahoma Open Championship is open to Pros and Amateurs. Amateur participants must have an active established USGA Handicap Index of 5.0 or less. Qualifying is required for those who do not meet the exemption criteria. Format is 54 holes of stroke play with a cut to the low 40 and ties after 36 holes.
