PAUL SIMSON WINS COLEMAN SENIOR INVITATIONAL, RECAP>

JUNO BEACH, Fla. (April 27, 2013) -- Mike McCoy of West Des Moines, Iowa posted a final round 71 to cap off a 5-under performance for 54 holes at the 2013 Coleman Invitational at Seminole Golf Club. McCoy, according to Seminole Golf Club Director of Tournament Operations Eri Seguin, played a nearly flawless round of golf en route to a final round 71 and a three day total of 211.

The round of the tournament belonged to Skip Berkmeyer who posted 66 to open on Thursday, giving him the early lead by a single shot over Parker Smith while McCoy lurked 3-shots out of the lead at 69. and was three shots up on Mike McCoy.

Berkmeyer (second round 72) was able to keep pace with a surging leaderboard and remain at the top entering the finale.

McCoy shot 71 on Friday and was alone in second place while Kris Mikkelsen and Tim Jackson, the defending champion, sat five back of the leader.

On Saturday, as Berkmeyer stumbled across the always challenging and windswept Seminole layout, McCoy (known for his deft iron play and tour quality putting) hung steady and wound up with a 7 shot margin and as the only player under par. The four players that tied for second included defending champ Jackson.

ABOUT THE Coleman Invitational

One of the very best amateur events all year long played on the last great private course designed by Donald Ross. The course, not long by today's standards, lies hard by the Atlantic Ocean. Oceanic winds and very fast greens give this course teeth. Ben Hogan once said 'If you can play Seminole, you can play any course in the world.'

The tournament is a 54-hole stroke play invitational that draws an elite field of mid- amateurs and seniors.
