Jordan Zunic leads New South Wales Medal
COLLAROY, NSW, Australia (Jan. 31, 2013) -- A strong performance from Jordan Zunic (Bonnie Doon) sees him lead the field after 36-holes in the 2013 Men’s NSW Medal, being played at The Coast and Bonnie Doon Golf Club’s. Zunic had rounds of 69 and 67 for a total 136. Jordan also took out the Champion of Champions title.Englishman Garrick Porteous (Bamburg Castle, England) is just one shot behind on 137, shooting 67 today to go with his 70 from yesterday.
Bonnie Doon member Troy Moses had rounds of 67 and 71, a total of 138 to be a further one stroke behind in third place.
There is a four-way tie for fourth position, with last year’s Amateur Champion Brett Drewitt (Long Reef) , England’s Nathan Kimsey (Woodall Spa, England) and Bonnie Doon’s Sean Macdona and Ricky Kato all finishing their two rounds on 139.Scores today were strong, with many of the leading players shooting under course par at the two Club’s.
The field has now been cut to 60 plus ties, with the final 36-holes being played tomorrow at Bonnie Doon. Please see below for draw. On completion tomorrow the top 32 qualify for the NSW Amateur Championship (match play) being held at The Royal Sydney Golf Club, from Sunday to Tuesday.
