The latest release from Project X is the lightest shaft in the brand's history

Never accuse True Temper of sitting on their laurels.

In recent months, the Memphis-based steel and graphite golf shaft manufacturer has released a number of models that have made a splash at all levels of the game. The company's Dynamic Gold shafts are continuously in the winner's circle and Grafalloy, having recently gone through a major relaunch and product release cycle, is a consistent best- seller.

The company's Project X brand, however, has taken on a life of its own. And today, Project X took yet another step forward with its release of the Project X 95 Flighted shaft --- the lightest shaft in the brand's history.

"Project X 95 Flighted is carefully designed and crafted to produce maximum distance and the tour-caliber control expected of the Project X brand," said Greg Cavill, vice president of alloy engineering and development for Project X, in a press release. "We also have incorporated descending weight properties into Project X 95 Flighted for enhanced feel in the mid to short irons. This was all quite an engineering feat given the lightweight properties of the shaft."

Thanks to what is being considered 'variable geometry per flex', the Project X 95 Flighted shafts are another step towards's the brand's goal of providing tour-level products that appeal to players of all skill levels and swing speeds.

"Project X 95 Flighted is great steel shaft option for competitive and aspirational players who are constantly seeking the latest technology in golf equipment to give them a competitive edge," Cavill said.

The Project X Flighted 95 is the company's lightest steel shaft and includes a mid- flight design that offers golfers tour-caliber control without sacrificing swing speed and consistent distance.

The new Project X 95 Flighted shaft is available through True Temper's network of distributors and Performance Fitting Centers. Retail price for a full set of shafts is $520.00.

The Flighted 95 shafts come in four different flexes and weights, providing enhanced feel in the mid to short irons. Golfers can choose from one of the following configurations: 5.0 flex/101 grams, 5.5/101, 6.0/106, 6.5/106.
