After two days of Ryder Cup-style match play, the pros edged out the amateurs
PHOENIX, Ariz. (Nov. 29, 2012) -- This week, 24 amateurs from the Arizona Golf Association took on 24 professionals from the Southwest Section PGA in the 52nd Bob Goldwater Cup at the at The Raven Golf Club-Phoenix.
After two days of Ryder Cup-style match play, the pros edged out the amateurs.
In the Open Division, which features players less than 50 years old, the pros beat out the amateurs 16½ to 13½.
The Senior Division went down to the wire. After the final match ended, the Seniors were tied 15 to 15.
Since the Southwest Section Senior Division pros won last year, they will retain the trophy.
