More than 20 tour players now have PXi in their bags and have recorded an incredible number of Top 10 finishes
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (July 2, 2012) -- The revolutionary Project X PXi shaft continues to score victories in the US and win fans in Europe, Japan and North America, making it the hottest new shaft on the 2012 global tours.
In its first season, PXi has been in the bag of PGA TOUR's Zurich Classic and Byron Nelson champions, as well as the winner of the Wichita Open winner on the Nationwide Tour. In fact, over 20 tour players now have PXi in their bags and have recorded an incredible number of Top 10 finishes. In addition to the stateside success, PXi continues to gain popularity among European Tour players with two more players putting the new shaft into play this week at the Irish Open.
"The new PXi is the culmination of years of research and development and it is the most sophisticated steel shaft design in the history of the game," says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. "After just six short months since its introduction, to see PXi winning tournaments right out the gate really validates all of the technology and design that is incorporated into this revolutionary shaft. We also continue to see more and more players put PXi into play each week on the PGA, Nationwide and European Tours, and I am confident we will be celebrating many more PXi victories this season."
PXi maintains the same launch trajectory and same spin rates that has made Project X a favorite on the pro tours, but in a substantially lightweight design. In addition, our engineers modified the design to soften the feel in the hands for the shorter irons and stiffen the longer shafts within a set. This is a high-powered combination that produces greater distance and improved feel beyond anything in the game today.
The PXi shafts feature a unique variable taper design with a dedicated taper rate for each flex. Longer taper rate results in more energy transfer to the ball for a faster and flatter penetrating trajectory. The new PXi shaft is a great hybrid option and provides a smooth transition from Project X irons to hybrids. PXi shafts are available in 5.0, 5.5, 6.0 and 6.5 flexes and ranges in weight from 108 grams (5.0 flex) to 117 grams (6.5 flex). MSRP: $560 per set.
