The 36 hole final match will begin Friday morning at 7 am, and the second 18 will start at noon

ROSLYN, NY (June 21, 2012) -- Current Havemeyer Champion Matthew Demeo of Hamlet Windwatch G & CC and Tim Rosenhouse, current club champion of the home club, each won morning and afternoon matches on Thursday to reach the finals of the 2012 Long Island Amateur Championship at Engineers CC in Roslyn Harbor. Demeo defeated Russ Aue of the Nassau Players Club and Defending Champion Joseph Saladino of Huntington CC; Rosenhouse defeated Matthew Noel Smith, an LIGA Associate Member and Michael Blum of the home club. The 36 hole final match will begin Friday morning at 7 am, and the second 18 will start at noon.
About the Long Island Amateur

18 hole qualifier to determine 32 players for match play. Previous year's champion gets #1 seed for match play.
