Michael Turner captures the 95th Los Angeles City Amateur Championship

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (June 2012) -- Michael Turner of Sherman Oaks posted a final round 71 to capture the coveted Los Angeles City Me's Championship by three strokes over Chatsworth resident Jonathan Sanders. Turner, who opened the event with a 71, relied on the impressive scores of 66-65 in the second and third rounds to place some distance between himself and the rest of the field. Sanders carded the low round of the event, a 64 in his second round, but his 70-64-70-72--276 total would come up three strokes shy. Kyle P. George of Sierra Madre posted 71-65-72-71--279 and finished alone in third place.
