Dave Baskins repeats at Sacramento County Senior

CARMICHAEL, Calif. (May 9, 2012) -- Defending Champion Dave Baskins, of El Macero CC in Davis, California won the Sacramento County Senior Men's Championship at Ancil Hoffman by five strokes over Jim Knoll, Brentwood.
Baskins finished Tuesday's round at 67, five ahead, and the only player under par. Baskins' front nine on Wednesday carded three birdies and one bogey, posting 1-under for the day, and 6-under-par for the tournament.
SUPER SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
The Super Senior championsip is held in conjunction with the Senior Championship at Ancil Hoffman for men age 65 and older. Don Bowen, of Sacramento, won the second playoff hole against Gary Guinn of Ancil Hoffman GC. They tied the first playoff hole with pars, then Guinn's second shot went left into a tree root. Bowen won the hole with a standard par.
Both had finished 36 holes at 148.
Super Senior Bob Fries, of Ft. Washington, aced the 17th hole. Fries tied for 5th place.

ABOUT THE Sacramento County Senior
The 48th annual County Senior & Super Senior Men's
Championship will be
contested at Ancil Hoffman Golf Course on Tuesday
and Wednesday, May 4
and 5, 2021. The tournament is played at scratch
and is open to male
amateur golfers 55 and older with a current handicap
index of 9.4 or less
(Senior) and 65 and older with an index of 11.4 and
less (Super Senior).
The Super Senior division will also include a
Legends flight (age 75 and
older).
The entry fee is $165 per player and includes two
days green fees, range balls
both days and awards - power cart not included.
The entry deadline is
April 27 and there will be no refunds after this
date. There will be a $10
cancellation fee for withdrawals prior to the entry
deadline.
The tournament format is 36 holes of stroke play –
18 holes each day. If COVID-19 protocols permit,
ties for
champion in both flights will be decided in a sudden
death playoff. All other
ties will be divided evenly by the sum of the
combined places. The lowest 36-
hole gross scores in the respective flights will be
declared the 2021 County Sr.
and Super Senior Men’s Champion. The names will
be inscribed on the
perpetual trophy.
