Old Dominion leads going into final round at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate
Pinehurst, NC (March 3, 2011) -- Three Monarch golfers, Garth McGee, Thomas Wilde and John Dawson are in the top 10 to lead ODU to first place after two rounds of the 2012 Pinehurst Intercollegiate at the Tom Fazio re-designed course. ODU has a seven stroke lead after 36 holes at 574.
Individually Garth McGee shot 70 in both rounds and is in second place at 140, three shots behind Michael Kania of Villanova who fired 69-68 for 137 on the day. Two shots behind McGee is Monarch teammate Thomas Wilde who shot 75-67 for 142 and John Dawson is tied for ninth at 145.
VCU is in second at 581, followed by Virginia Tech at 584. The final round is Sunday.
