Eddie Newland, Sherman Haggerty top champ and senior flights; three tied for net lead
Eddie Newland of San Francisco leads the amateurgolf.com Wine Country Cup after posting 2-under 70 at Stonetree Golf Club.
He is closely trailed by Eric Grimberg (Moraga), Jerry Ledzinski (Carmel) and Christmas Classic runner-up Nick Sako (Menlo Park).
Sunday promises to be a shoot-out at the difficult Johnny Miller layout.
Sherman Haggerty posted a fine 73 to pace the senior division by one stroke while three players are tied at 72 to lead the net division. Sunil Bhalla, John Foley, and Brian Rigney will face off in the Net field's final pairing.
