AJ Sjostrom wins the 2011 Lake Elsinore City with dramatic putt on the final hole
LAKE ELSINORE, CALIF. (Oct. 31, 2011) --
Google AJ Sjostrom and you will see plenty of
images of him soaring through the air on his
motorcycle. You also see that his interests
include stakeboards, surfing, mixed martial arts
and triathalon. But when a serious accident
nearly took his life, he switched gears and took
up golf. And it looks like he is a fast learner.
Sjostrom holed a dramatic 8-foot birdie putt on 18 yesterday to capture the 2011 Lake Elsinore City Championship by a single stroke over Brandon Mojarro and Brian Beach at the challenging Links at Summerly Golf Course in Lake Elsinore.
Sjostrom went low the first day with a 68 to lead by the three. Although he stumbled a bit in tough conditions on the second day, he was able to close with a birdie on the final hole. Next up for Sjostrom is the Califonia State Open qualifier.
