Members of the amateurgolf.com Player Staff Program weigh in on 3 Lamkin models
Serious golfers want serious quality. And every
golf swing starts with the grip.
Amateurgolf.com Player Staff Members recently
began playing Lamkin grips
of their choice.
Much like amateurgolf.com has reported in the past, Lamkin's lineup passes with flying colors when graded by our Player Staff panel.
DURABILITY IS THE KEY
Staff member Greg Austin of San Marcos, Calif. immediately noticed the durability of his N-DUR 3GEN grips when compared to the Winn grips he replaced.
"The amazing thing is the feel I get with the N- DUR grips while still getting a grip that's durable," Austin said.
N-DUR 3GEN grips from Lamkin have a dual- compound design, formed from the company's proprietary 3GEN synthetic rubber compound and the N-DUR technology's traction- enhancement. This allows for terrific feel and a grip that can handle well the impact of a lot of swings.
"I love the dual compound design," said Austin. "It gives plenty of traction and just the right amount of firmness for me."
WEATHERING THE STORM
Player Staff Member Doug Stiles of Bogart, Georgia played his Lamkin grips all summer and was very impressed with how they handled the wet and humid conditions. Stiles had typically been a fan of cord-style grips, which perform well under even wet conditions but has been pleased with his Lamkin grips.
"I was really impressed with these grips in the hot and humid weather we had this summer," Stiles said. "I've never even considered switching back to the cords I was using."
Many Lamkin grips featurea hexagon-patterned back panel, which helps protect the hand from slipping at impact --- under any condition.
PUTTING FOR DOUGH
Bret Taylor of Foothill Ranch, Calif. used the EBL 3GEN midsize paddle putter grip to his bag and has been pleased with its size and weight.
"I had tried other oversized putter grips but they were always so heavy that I couldn't feel the putter head," Taylor said. "But with this Lamkin putter grip, I get the feel back."
The paddle-shaped grip is perfect for players with large hands or those that want to take their wrists out of the putting stroke. Each Lamkin putter grip features the 3GEN material.
