Pete Wlodkowski of amateurgolf.com has logged tens of thousands of miles with a Sun Mountain ClubGlider golf travel bag
From September, 2011: My new golf club travel bag, Sun Mountain's ClubGlider, arrived just in time for a dream trip to St. Andrews and Aberdeen, Scotland for the 2011 Walker Cup. Its maiden voyage was a 15 hour flight from San Diego to Edinburgh, Scotland on British Airways (via London).
And that was just the start of it.
Over 9 days, my back and shoulders were saved by the most innovative golf travel product that I have ever seen. Every time I trudged through an airport, or train station (I never rented a car), or even on a short walk through the London borough of Kensington, I wondered how I ever lived without a ClubGlider.
Here's how it works.
Starting with an extremely well thought out and constructed padded travel bag --with wheels at the lower part of the heavy-duty plastic bottom tray -- the ClubGlider's patented innovation is found at the middle of that molded tray. With an easy pull out, and then down, the ClubGlider's spring-loaded lightweight aluminum wheel assembly pops out like an airplane's landing gear. All of a sudden, the fifty pound ball ball-and-chain (otherwise known as a set of golf clubs, shoes, and rain gear) turns into a weightless cart that can be pushed and pulled with ease.
You really have to see it, and try it to truly "get" how the ClubGlider can change your golf travel life. If you travel with your clubs even once a year, the ClubGlider should be your 15th club.
