Bittick wins Costa Mesa City Championship

COSTA MESA, CALIF. (Aug. 8, 2011) -- Jason Bittick followed up at 63 on the Mesa Linda course with a even-par round of 72 on the Los Lagos track to capture the 2011 Costa Mesa City Championship.

First round leader Stewart Hagestadt followed his blistering 8-under par 62 on the Mesa Linda course with a 75 on the longer Los Lagos for a second place finish.

Alex Marry fired rounds of 68-70--138 to place third by himself.

ABOUT THE Costa Mesa Will Jordan Classic

This 36-hole stroke play tournament is played at The Costa Mesa Country Club.

Past champions include Mark O'Meara (1979) and Brian Lindley (1980). Lindley, who in 1981 lost in the final of the US Amateur to Nathaniel Crosby, holds the course record at the Los Lagos Course, at 59. Mark O'Meara's record speaks for itself.

Open and Senior (ages 50+) flighted divisions. All players must be 18 years of age or older. Maximum Index is 16.9. Field limited to 320 players.
