Baskins takes Sac County Senior

Seven time El Macero club champion, Dave Baskins comes from behind to capture the Sacramento County Senior

CARMICHAEL, Calif. (May 11, 2011) -- Dave Baskins, of El Macero CC, is the 2011 Sacramento County Senior Champion. Even par on Tuesday, Baskins was five strokes behind Jim Knoll, who scored 67. He then matched Knoll's score on Wednesday to win by just one shot. Noteable Casey Boyns competed this year, coming in six shots back. Bob Rowland, from the Super Senior Flight, shot 154 to take the honors for those over the age of 65. Rowland defeated Bob Olds in the first playoff hole. Three players tied for second place at one-stroke back. Bob Fries, of Ft. Washington, aced the 17th hole on Sunday. He has collected five aces in the last 14 months, and all with the same club. Pretty amazing guy. Sixty-three players competed over two days of great weather.
