Host Old Waverly Country Club comes from behind to win title in club-team format event
West Point, Miss. (Nov. 7, 2010) -- The second round of the John Bryan Cup began on a chilly November morning, with Old Waverly Golf Club lurking one shot behind the leaders from Tupelo Country Club.
As the day continued, things began to heat up and word was passed through the clubhouse that two members of the hosting Waverly team were near even par. Home course knowledge and determination proved to be the key for Richard Reed and Alex Rowland as they fired 72 and 73, respectively to lead their team to a winning total of 607.
The defending champions, Reunion Golf and Country Club gave it their all but managed to fall short. Reunion and Tupelo Country Club finished in second with a team total of 619.
Congratulations to all the clubs that were represented here at the sixteenth annual John Bryan Cup.
