Joe Sanders, who also won the event in 2008, leads wire to wire; defending champ JT Cockerill finishes 2nd
GENOA, Nevada (June 27, 2010) -- Following are the results from the 3 day event for scratch players top 12. Joe Sanders -- the 2008 Northern Nevada Am winner -- led wire to wire for his 2010 win. Sanders never left the red numbers at Genoa Lakes GC in Genoa NV under perfect weather conditions. Having qualified for the first stage of the US Open there in May, Sanders was very comfortable at Genoa Lakes.
Defending Champion JT Cockerill fired a second round 65 to pull within 1 of Sanders in the second round, but his title defense fell was two strokes shy in the end. Joe Sanders, JT Cockerill and Dave Nelson all earned spots on the NNGA Pacific Coast team for 2010 in Eugene Oregon.
