True Temper Sports' all-new DG Spinner shafts helped capture THE PLAYERS Championship this weekend.

MEMPHIS, TN (May 10, 2010)--True Temper Sports' all-new DG Spinner shafts helped capture THE PLAYERS Championship this weekend. The first-time PGA TOUR winner was bogey-free during the final 26 holes playing the new DG Spinner in his sand and lob wedges, to compliment the Rifle shafts in his irons.

"We are very excited that the champion's first PGA TOUR win could also be the first tour win for our innovative DG Spinner shafts," says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. "True Temper is committed to continually developing shafts that provide top-level performance and accuracy and our new DG Spinner shafts are no exception, which was clearly evident in the champion's amazing 36-hole come-from-behind victory."

Launched just recently on tour, the new DG Spinner wedge shaft is the latest technology from the highly popular Dynamic Gold line of shafts.

"We specifically designed the DG Spinner shaft to lower ball launch and increase ball spin during full- and low-impact swing conditions," says Greg Cavill, True Temper's director of metals R&D and engineering. "To do this, we created a unique section located beneath the grip that effectively decreases launch angles by as much as three degrees and simultaneously increases the ball’s spin rate by as much as 700+ rpm. This creates a wedge shot with a more penetrating ball flight for distance control and increased spin for greater stopping power on the green."

DG Spinner shafts will be offered in an optimized wedge series and available in two flexes — Wedge flex for sand and lob wedges and Wedge+ flex for gap and pitching wedges. DG Spinner will be available to the public later this year.

In the overall shaft count at THE PLAYERS, True Temper led with 124 sets in play while the nearest competitor fielded only 12 sets. The victory marked the 16th PGA TOUR win for True Temper this season.
