Kris Butkys wins the overall title by two shots, but Rafael Morales steals the show with two holes-in-one in two days.
VICTORVILLE, CA (November 22, 2009)--At Victorville, San Bernardino’s Rafael Morales had two holes-in-one during the two-day High Desert Amateur Championship at Green Tree Golf Course, while Kris Butkys shot a final-round 68 to win the overall title by two shots.
Morales aced the 202-yard, eighth hole on Saturday and the 172-yard, 16th hole on Sunday.
Butkys (139) trailed former champion and Victor Valley High School graduate Ricky Montanez (141) by two strokes entering the final round. Montanez shot an even-par 72 on Sunday.
Ray Vanyo (145) won the senior flight gross score title by five shots over Wayne Taylor (150), while Jerry Hinds finished with the lowest net score in the flight topping Bob Costa by a shot.
Raul Arreola (150) had the top gross score in A Flight, while Kirk Rosebrough (144) beat Daniel Hernandez (145) by a shot for the net title. Sergio Manzo (169) had the B Flight low gross score, while John Bricker (148) fired the lowest net score by eight shots.
