Kirk Siddens fires 67-71 to win the Utah Tournament of Champions by four shots at Wolf Creek Resort

Relief!

That’s how Kirk Siddens must have felt after winning the UGA Tournament of Champions Sunday at Wolf Creek Resort. It was one of the major Utah golfing titles that had eluded him for the past 20 years and he needed this one to earn a spot on the Utah team for the Utah-Arizona Shootout.

He shot an opening round of 67, which was the best round of the tournament, and followed it up on Sunday with a one-under par 71. He won by four shots over a pair of former State Am champions, Darrin Overson and Tommy Sharp.

For the first time in about 20 years Siddens hadn’t won a tournament and qualified for the Tournament of Champions by winning the Wingpointe club championship. The victory earned him a spot on the Utah team for the upcoming Shootout match against Arizona.

Steve Poulson won both senior titles, and Echo Thatcher easily won the women’s title.
