Ohio State's Hoag wins Monroe Invitational in New York

PITTSFORD, New York (June 20, 2009) -- Bo Hoag of Ohio State won the 69th Monroe Invitational, shooting a one-under-par 69 in the rain-soaked final round at Monroe Golf Club Saturday.

Hoag, a rising junior, finished with a combined 277 (70-71-67-69) for the four-day tournament.

Two-time defending champion Phillip Mollica of Clemson shot a four-over 74 and finished at 278, tying him for second with Hoag’s teammate, Brad Wright.

Small-field invitational event played on a great par 70 Donald Ross course. 72 hole stroke play championship dates back to 1937. No cut.
