Bowling Green's Jordan Blann wins a weather-delayed Kentucky State Amateur Championship by two shots

NICHOLASVILLE, KY (June 12, 2009)--Bowling Green's Jordan Blann capped off a "pretty good" week by winning the 2009 at&t Kentucky State Amateur Championship today at Champion Trace Golf Club. His opening round of 67 was followed up with a 2 under par 70 and a two shot win over Crit Reddick of Bardstown who shot 70-69 for his 139 total.

Lee Chaney of Morehead closed his week with a 3 under par 69 to go with his opening 71 and third place.

After enduring a couple of days of inclement weather and cancellations of rounds, a field of 75 made the cut and played today in the final round of the 36 hole championship; a first for this championship in the modern era.

Blann began his week at the US Open Sectional Qualifier in Memphis and was paired with a couple of professionals from Australia. "That was one of the best times of playing golf that I can remember in my life", said Blann. "Not only were they good players but they were funny and kept getting after each other, which kept it light." Although Blann did not qualify, his experience was valuable and will be a highlight of golf for a long time.
