Both the Men’s and Women’s teams from TPC at Snoqualmie Ridge won in thrilling fashion at the Washington Member Club Team Championship at Suncadia
ROSLYN, WA (June 3, 2009)--Both the Men’s and Women’s teams from TPC at Snoqualmie Ridge won in thrilling fashion at the 4th Annual WSGA Member Club Team Championship held on the Prospector course at Suncadia Resort in Roslyn, Wash.
In the Men’s Division, team members Chris Bae, Vince Caluori, Lorrin Chang, and Charles Schmidt of TPC at Snoqualmie Ridge captured their victory in a playoff with Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club. Both teams finished tied with a two-day total score of 31-under par 401. The teams played hole #1 to settle the deadlock. Bae would make birdie 3 for the team’s gross score, while Vince Caluori made 5 net 3, and Lorrin Chang made 5 net 4 to seal the victory. Bae also won the Men’s low gross individual honors with an impressive two day total of 8-under par 136.
In the Women’s Division, the team from TPC at Snoqualmie Ridge came from one shot back to win by 8 strokes. The team of Diana Chow, Kim Ponti, Molly Grossi, and Roberta Smith shot a final round 9-under par 207 to follow their opening round 4-under par 212 for a two-day total of 13-under par 419. Hayden Lake Country Club came in runner-up with a two-day total of 427. The first round leaders from Sand Point Country Club finished in third place with a two-day total of 428. Cathy Uptain from Mill Creek Country Club won the Women’s low gross individual honor with an 18-over par two-day total of 162.
The WSGA Member Club Team Championship is a 36-hole championship that includes 20 Men’s teams and 14 Women’s teams competing in their respective divisions. The Men played the course at 6362 yards par 72 and the Women are playing the course at 5452 yards, par 72. The format is as follows: each four-person must be from the same WSGA Member Club and consist of either all men or all women. Each team is counting one gross score and two net scores per hole for the team total each day.
