Alameda Commuters: Scarff, Ellis lead at 6-under

Northern California's version of The Masters is at its halfway point; 36-hole cut set at 144

ALAMEDA, Calif. (April 19, 2009) -- Scoring was a little more difficult in the second round of the Alameda Commuters due to the hard, fast greens and difficult pin placements. But as players hawked over the scoreboard, the "number" was still one of the lowest in the event's rich 82 year history (144 or 2 over par). Co-medalists Christopher Ellis and Reid Scarff paced the field at 138 (6-under-par) with 8 players within 3 shots of the lead.

Second round results from the Alameda Commuters, played at the Earl Fry North and Jack Clark South courses at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex follow. The final 36-holes of this 72-hole tournament, as well as the 36-hole Alameda Commuters Senior Championship will be contested on April 25 & 26.
