University of Virginia standout will play his last amateur event, trying to grab the cup from his brother, defending champ Michael
The 88th Kenridge Invitational will provide a fitting final chapter to Bryan Lee’s amateur career while setting the stage for one of the tournament’s most compelling storylines in recent memory. Before turning professional, the University of Virginia standout will make his final amateur start against the tournament’s reigning champion and course record holder—his younger brother, Michael Lee.
Together, the Lee brothers have become one of Virginia golf’s most accomplished sibling duos. Bryan arrives at Farmington Country Club as one of the nation’s premier amateur players, currently ranked No. 45 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). His résumé includes appearances in both the U.S. Amateur and U.S. Open, along with top finishes in many of collegiate golf’s most prestigious events.
Michael returns to Kenridge as the defending champion after a breakthrough freshman season at Virginia. In addition to capturing last year’s Kenridge Invitational title with a course record 62, he earned the individual title at the East Lake Cup and posted top finishes at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, Calusa Cup, and Lewis Chitengwa Memorial.
While Bryan’s amateur career is drawing to a close after earning his tour card, Michael enters the week with momentum of his own. One brother is preparing for the professional ranks; the other is establishing himself as one of the rising stars of collegiate golf.
