The 18-year-old fires the only under par round of the week to edge the field by one.
18-year-old Sammy Bermant of Thousand Oaks, Calif., posted a 3-over 147 (71-76) to win the Lompoc City Amateur Championship by one shot at La Purisima Golf Club.
The California State University commit set the tone early with an opening round of 1-under 71, the only under-par round of the tournament, to take a two-shot lead into the final round. He followed with a 4-over 76 but held his ground to secure the title.
UC Santa Barbara graduate student Ryan Gay finished one shot back in second at 4-over 148 (73-75), while Scott Bradford followed in third at 5-over 149 (73-76).
Net Division:
Bob Bolusan won the Net title with a two-day total of 140 (67-73). The victory comes after previous runner-up finishes in 2018 and 2024.

Individual 36-hole gross and net stroke play competition open to all amateur golfers. Limited to the first 90 entries. Net competitors must have a valid USGA handicap. Entry fee includes green fees for both days, prize fund and Sunday barbecue.
