A final-round 285 powers Cal Poly to the team title, while Long Beach State’s Madison Le shines at 8-under to win individually
Cal Poly delivered when it mattered most, firing a final-round 3-under 285 to capture the 2026 Big West Women’s Golf Championship at Kaanapali Golf Resort—its fifth title and first since 2023.
Clinging to a narrow lead entering the final day, the Mustangs separated themselves with the second-best round of the week, finishing at 866 (-2) to win by six over UC Davis (+8). It marked their best Big West Championship total in program history and capped a composed, team-driven performance.
Depth defined the win. Cal Poly placed four players inside the top 15, led by junior Sarah Yoo, who finished fourth at 1-under 215 (71-71-73). Sophomore Nicole Koong surged late with a closing 70 to tie for fifth at even-par 216 (71-75-70). Freshmen Alex Flier (74-74-72) and Maddy Saysanasongkham (75-75-70) tied for 14th at 4-over 220, underlining the lineup’s balance.
Individually, Long Beach State senior Madison Le stole the spotlight, claiming medalist honors at 8-under 208 (63-74-71). Le became the program’s seventh Big West champion—and the sixth different Long Beach State player to win—continuing a run of dominance with six titles in the last eight editions. She earns an automatic NCAA postseason berth.
Defending champion Davina Xanh (CSU Fullerton) finished just one back at 7-under 209 (76-68-65), highlighted by a tournament-low 65 in the final round.
