Sophomore Jasmine Koo storms to victory as Trojans dominate by 22 shots and extend historic run
No. 2 USC continued its dominant season with a commanding victory at the Chevron Silverado Showdown, posting 37-under 827 (277-282-268) for a 22-shot win at Silverado Country Club & Resort in Napa, California.
The Trojans sealed the title with a final-round 20-under 268, tying the second-lowest round in program history, and stretching their winning streak to five consecutive tournaments — their longest since the 2013-14 season.
The run includes victories at the Alice and John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic, GameAbove Invitational, Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, PING ASU Invitational, and now Silverado. USC’s six wins this season are its most since the 2018-19 campaign.
No. 27 Eastern Michigan finished runner-up at 15-under 849 (284-280-285), with the two teams the only ones in the 16-team field to finish under par.
In the individual competition, sophomore Jasmine Koo delivered a standout performance, closing with a tournament-best 7-under 65 to win at 10-under 206 (72-69-65).
Starting the final round tied for seventh, Koo surged past the field to claim her third title of the season, becoming one of the most accomplished players in program history in under two seasons.
USC’s depth was again on display, with all six players finishing inside the top 15.
Junior Bailey Shoemaker (69-70-68) and senior Catherine Park (67-74-66) shared runner-up honors at 9-under 207.
Sophomore Kylie Chong (74-70-69) and freshman Sarah Hammett (72-71-70) finished T-9 at 3-under 213, while sophomore Elise Lee placed 14th at 1-under 215 (69-73-73).
Statistically, USC led the field in par-4 (3.87) and par-5 scoring (4.78), while topping the field with 58 birdies and 187 pars.
Individually, Koo also led the field in par-4 scoring (3.77) and recorded 16 birdies, with Shoemaker and Hammett close behind.
