Elite amateur stars—including U.S. Amateur champion Mason Howell and No. 1 junior Miles Russell—headline a stacked field at the 30
The Terra Cotta Invitational reaches a major milestone this spring as one of the country’s most respected amateur events celebrates its 30th edition with a loaded field at Naples National Golf Club.
Scheduled for April 16-18, 2026, the invitation-only tournament will once again showcase 72 of the top amateur players in the world, reinforcing its status as one of the premier non-collegiate amateur competitions in the United States.
Few amateur events can match the depth of this year’s Terra Cotta field. The tournament will feature 24 of the top 25 Rolex Junior All-Americans, 60 players ranked in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), and seven members of the U.S. National Junior Team.
That level of talent places the Terra Cotta firmly among the elite amateur events in the world. The event is currently ranked 10th in the United States, excluding collegiate events, a notable distinction among more than 3,000 ranked amateur tournaments.
All eyes will be on Luke Colton, the reigning champion in both 2024 and 2025, who returns with a chance to make tournament history. No player has ever won the Terra Cotta Invitational three times, and Colton will have the opportunity to become the first.
The field is further elevated by some of the biggest names in amateur golf, including current U.S. Amateur champion Mason Howell and No. 1-ranked junior amateur Miles Russell, who arrives fresh off his second consecutive win at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley.
The event also carries strong local flavor. Naples-area players in the field include Brian Bassett, a five-time Naples National club champion making his sixth Terra Cotta appearance, along with Noah Kent, runner-up in last year’s U.S. Amateur, plus Spencer Ives, Jack Ray Donovan, and Kaden Latreille.
The international presence remains a defining part of the championship’s identity. This year’s field includes players from Australia, Canada, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, England, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, Sweden, and Wales, underscoring the tournament’s growing global reach.
Competition will be played Thursday through Saturday in threesomes, setting the stage for three days of elite amateur golf at one of Florida’s premier venues.
Beyond the championship itself, the Terra Cotta Invitational continues to make an impact off the course. Tournament organizers will once again donate net proceeds to local children’s charities, thanks to the support of Naples National members and sponsors.
Three decades in, the Terra Cotta Invitational continues to do what few amateur events can: bring together many of the game’s brightest young stars, provide a world-class competitive stage, and maintain a meaningful charitable mission in the local community.

54-hole stroke play tournament with no cut. Caddies are required. A Sponsor/Contestant tournament is held before the event. The Terra Cotta is an invitational. However, they do encourage applications and players can submit their golf resume for consi...
