Cardinals lift title for first time since 2019 as New Mexico’s Mesa Falleur edges Kihei Akina by one
No. 23 Stanford returned to the top at The Goodwin, posting 17-under 823 (269-280-274) to secure its 17th title at the event and first since 2019.
The Cardinal held off No. 35 UCLA, which finished runner-up at 13-under 827 (276-272-279), four shots back.
In the individual competition, New Mexico senior Mesa Falleur delivered a composed performance to claim medalist honours at 12-under 198 (67-65-66), edging BYU freshman Kihei Akina by one shot.

Falleur began the final round tied for second at 8-under 132, one stroke behind 36-hole leader Alejandro de Castro Piera, and closed with a 6-under 66 to secure the win.
De Castro Piera, who led after two rounds, finished T-6 at 6-under 204 following a final-round 73.
Akina, already a two-time winner in his freshman season, including last week’s Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational, posted rounds of 66-67-69 to finish runner-up at 11-under 199.
Stanford placed three players inside the top 20, led by sophomore Jay Leng, who finished T-3 at 7-under 203 (65-70-68). Dean Greyserman added a T-8 finish at 5-under 205 (71-66-68), while Nathan Wang placed T-19 at 2-under 208 (66-73-69).
