Trojans claim fifth title of the season as Catherine Park finishes runner-up and four players place inside top 10.
No. 2 USC continued its dominant stretch, posting 23-under 841 (271-281-289) to secure an 11-shot victory at the PING ASU Invitational at Papago Golf Club.
The win marked USC’s fourth consecutive stroke-play victory, the program’s best run since 2013-14, and its fifth title of the season, matching last year’s total. The Trojans entered the week on the back of wins at the Alice and John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic, GameAbove Invitational, and Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.
Defending champions Arizona State finished runner-up at 12-under 852 (282-284-285), while No. 19 Northwestern, winners of the 2023 and 2024 editions, placed 10th at 23-over.
In the individual competition, Cal State Fullerton senior Davina Xanh claimed medalist honours at 8-under 208 (68-72-68).
USC senior Catherine Park finished runner-up at 7-under 209 (68-66-75) alongside Arizona State freshman Pimpisa Rubrong, Abilene Christian senior Ryan Honea, and Cal State Fullerton senior Kaitlyn Zermeno Smith.
Park entered the final round with the lead but endured a difficult start before rallying with birdies on the back nine. A late bogey dropped her into a share of second.
USC’s depth again proved decisive, placing four players inside the top 10.
Sophomores Elise Lee (67-71-74) and Kylie Chong (70-73-69), and junior Bailey Shoemaker (70-71-71) all finished T-8 at 4-under 212.
Statistically, USC led the field in par-4 (3.95) and par-5 scoring (4.74) and recorded a tournament-best 54 birdies.
