Fujikura VENTUS TR Black and Red shafts give competitive amateurs more launch and spin options.
Fujikura is expanding its VENTUS TR lineup with two new additions, VENTUS TR Black and VENTUS TR Red, giving golfers more defined options at both ends of the launch-and-spin spectrum.
The move builds on the recent release of VENTUS TR Blue, which sits in the middle of the family as a mid-launch option. With Black designed for lower launch and spin, and Red aimed at players who need more help getting the ball up, Fujikura now has a more complete three-profile lineup for golfers who want stability but do not all deliver the club the same way.
That matters for competitive amateurs because shaft fit is rarely one-size-fits-all. Two players can swing at similar speeds and still need very different ball flights. One may fight a left miss or too much spin when the driver gets quick in transition. Another may struggle to launch fairway woods high enough to hold a green or carry a hazard. The addition of both TR Black and TR Red gives better players more room to fine-tune those windows instead of forcing a middle-ground fit.
Like the updated TR Blue, both new shafts use Fujikura’s VeloCore+ technology, paired with Spread Tow material to increase stability and tighten consistency. In simple terms, these shafts are built for players who load the club aggressively and want the shaft to stay predictable through impact.

A lot of competitive players are not looking for more feel as much as they are looking for repeatability. They want the face delivered more consistently, launch and spin numbers that stay in a playable range, and a shaft that does not feel like it is falling behind when they go after one. Fujikura is clearly positioning the VENTUS TR family for that type of player.
The new VENTUS TR Black should appeal most to players with faster swing speeds and an aggressive move from the top. Fujikura says it is stiffer in the midsection and very stiff in both the handle and tip, which keeps it in the low-launch, low-spin category. For the amateur who already creates enough speed and height, this is the profile that could help flatten flight, control spin, and make the driver feel more stable under pressure.
The new VENTUS TR Red goes the other direction. It features a slightly softer mid and tip section and is designed to produce mid-to-high launch with more spin. That makes it the more practical option for players who need help getting the ball in the air, especially with fairway woods, or for golfers whose current setup launches too low to maximize carry. For many amateurs, that can be the difference between a 3-wood that is useful off the turf and one that only works from a tee.

The bigger takeaway is not that one profile is better than another. It is that Fujikura now offers a clearer set of choices for competitive amateurs who know what ball flight they are chasing.
If you are a player with an aggressive tempo who wants to keep launch and spin down, TR Black looks like the fit. If you want a balanced profile, TR Blue remains the in-between option. If you need more launch, especially in a fairway wood or a driver that comes out too flat, TR Red gives you a higher-flight alternative without moving away from the stability focus that defines the TR line.
That broader fitting range is the real story here.
At the elite amateur level, equipment gains often come from better fit rather than more technology alone. A shaft that helps one player hit a flatter, more controlled tee ball may hurt another player who needs more carry and spin. By rounding out the VENTUS TR family with distinct launch profiles, Fujikura is giving better amateurs more ways to match shaft performance to the demands of their own game.
VENTUS TR Black and VENTUS TR Red will be available starting April 20, 2026, through authorized Fujikura Global Charter Dealers and select OEM custom programs. Both will carry an MSRP of $350 and will be offered in driver and fairway wood models across a range of weights from 50 to 90 grams, in flexes from Regular through Extra Stiff.
Fujikura’s updated VENTUS TR lineup now gives players three distinct launch-and-spin profiles. TR Red is built for mid-to-high launch, TR Blue sits in the middle, and TR Black is the lowest-launch, lowest-spin option.
