Trojans claim third straight title as sophomore Jasmine Koo cruises to six-shot individual victory
No. 2 USC continued its dominant run this season, posting 28-under 824 (276-270-278) to claim a commanding 23-shot victory at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawaii.
The Trojans were in control throughout the week and finished well clear of the field. No. 12 North Carolina and 2024 edition champions Arizona State shared runner-up honours at 5-under 847. North Carolina carded rounds of 282-284-281, while Arizona State posted 286-276-285, but neither could match USC’s pace.
The win marked USC’s third consecutive title, following victories at the Alice and John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic and the GameAbove Invitational, and their fourth of the season, already matching last year’s total. The 28-under total ranks among the best in program history, while the margin of victory stands as one of the largest the team has recorded.
USC’s depth once again proved decisive, placing five players inside the top 10.
Sophomore Jasmine Koo led the charge with a composed performance, securing her second win of the season at 11-under 202 (67-68-67). She entered the final round with a two-shot lead and never allowed the field back in, closing with a bogey-free 67 that included four birdies.
Catherine Park finished runner-up at 5-under 208 (71-68-69), six shots back.
Three more Trojans added to the dominant showing with top-10 finishes. Bailey Shoemaker closed at 2-under 211 (72-65-74) to finish T-6, while Elise Lee (70-70-71) and Kylie Chong (66-77-68) matched that mark to share sixth place.
For USC, it was another statement performance in what is shaping into a standout season, with both individual brilliance and team depth separating them from one of the stronger fields in collegiate golf.
