Victorian duo shine at Royal Adelaide as Eduard fends off late charge and Harris overturns five-shot deficit
Victoria’s Abel Eduard and Amelia Harris claimed impressive victories at the South Australian Classic and Rene Erichsen Salver at Royal Adelaide Golf Club.
Eduard, from Kingston Heath, built his win on control across four rounds of 68-68-67-69 to finish at 16-under 272. He shared the opening-round lead, moved into command through the middle rounds, and carried a two-shot advantage into the final day. A steady closing 69 proved enough.
Fellow Victorian Hamish Farquharson (66) and Western Australia’s Josiah Edwards (67) both finished one shot back, applying pressure until the finish. Eduard’s win marks a step forward from last year, when he finished fourth.
The championship also saw an early twist as two-time defending champion Kayun Mudadana (2024, 2025) did not start the third round after opening the week, leaving the door open for a new winner.
Eduard continues a strong 2026, highlighted by victory at the Australian Master of the Amateurs and a recent T-14 against professionals at the Heritage Classic.
In the women’s event, Amelia Harris surged from five shots behind to win with rounds of 73-69-71-67, finishing at 12-under 280.
The 17-year-old produced a bogey-free 67 in the final round to chase down Rachel Lee, who closed with a 73 after leading through three rounds.
Grace Rho finished third at 8-under, while Lara Thomsen and Jordyn Dee shared fourth.
