Gators win by 13 shots as EKU senior Anders Larson charges to maiden collegiate victory with final-round 66
No. 38 Florida successfully defended its title at the Seminole Intercollegiate, posting 8-under 856 (287-285-284) for a commanding 13-shot victory.
Florida was the only team in the field to finish under par, pulling away from Southern Miss, which finished runner-up at 5-over 875 (294-290-291). The win extended Florida’s dominance at the event, improving on last year’s 12-shot victory and marking another convincing performance at home.
Troy, last year’s runner-up, finished 10th at 36-over.
In the individual competition, Eastern Kentucky senior Anders Larson delivered the standout performance of the week, claiming medalist honors at 7-under 209 (69-74-66) for a one-shot victory.
Larson began the final round five shots off the lead but surged with a closing 6-under 66 to secure his first collegiate win. He led the field in par-4 scoring at 5-under and tied for the most birdies in the tournament with 15. The win also marked the first individual title for Eastern Kentucky outside Richmond since 2022.
Host Florida State placed three players inside the top 10, led by junior Tyler Weaver, who finished runner-up at 6-under (72-68-70), just one shot behind Larson.
Redshirt sophomore Carson Brewer finished T-5 at 1-under 215 (71-72-72), while junior Wilmer Edero placed T-7 at even-par 216 (73-70-73).
