Tigers claim historic fourth win of the year at Forest Hills while Xavier’s Isabela Brozena fires record 64 to take medalist honor
The No. 34 Missouri women’s golf team captured the Valspar Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, finishing at 2-under 862 (283-281-298) for a four-shot victory.
The win marked Missouri’s fourth team title of the season, the program’s most in a single year since 1987–88. The Tigers’ previous victories this season came at the Sam Golden Invitational and Johnnie Imes Invitational in September and the Westbrook Invitational in February.
Missouri was also the only team in the 17-team field to finish under par for the tournament.
Furman finished runner-up at 2-over (289-284-293), while defending champion Georgia Southern finished seventh at 27-over.
In the individual competition, Xavier sophomore Isabela Brozena claimed medalist honors at 7-under 209 (72-73-64). Brozena closed with an 8-under 64, the lowest round of the tournament and a new Xavier program record. Her 54-hole total of 209 ranks as the fourth-best score in school history and the third-best relative to par.
Yale senior Mia Sessa finished runner-up at 6-under 210 (72-70-68).
Missouri placed all five players from its starting lineup inside the top 25, showcasing the depth that fueled the team's victory. Junior Fleur van Beek and freshman Ebba Liljeberg led the Tigers, finishing T-8 at even-par 216. Van Beek posted rounds of 74-70-72, while Liljeberg recorded 73-69-74.
Senior Addie Dobson finished T-14 at 2-over (73-70-75), senior Jade Zamora placed T-18 at 3-over (69-73-77), and senior Melanie Walker finished T-21 at 4-over (68-72-80).
