World No. 1 amateur Jackson Koivun claims his eighth Auburn win as the Tigers edge Texas Tech for the team crown
Jackson Koivun, the No. 1 ranked amateur in the world, captured the John Hayt Invitational with an 11-under 205 total after rounds of 68-70-67, securing a one-shot victory and his third win in his last four starts.
He captured titles at the Amer Ari Invitational and Gators Invitational, then notched a third-place finish at the Southern Highlands Collegiate before claiming a third victory in Florida.
The Auburn junior entered the final round near the top of the leaderboard and closed with a steady 5-under 67 to hold off a tight chasing pack. Duke senior William Love (66-72-68) and Charlotte junior Seb Cave (71-66-69) finished runner-up at 10-under, one shot behind Koivun.
The victory marked Koivun’s eighth collegiate win at Auburn, moving him two ahead of Jimmy Green for the most in program history. The win continues a remarkable trend in his career — he has won at least twice in every collegiate season and opened the spring with another victory as he continues to build one of the most decorated résumés in Auburn history.
Sure would HAYT not to be an Auburn fan right about now 🏆🎯

The 2025 Mark H. McCormack Medal recipient's strong play propelled Auburn to the team title. The Tigers finished at 28-under 836 (279-282-275), edging No. 11 Texas Tech by two shots in a stacked field featuring six other top-25 teams, including No. 1 Virginia and No. 15 Alabama. The victory marked Auburn's third of the season, following the Clerico in September and the Amer Ari Invitational last month.
The result improved Auburn’s record to 37-15-1 (.708) against ranked opponents this season.
Three Tigers finished inside the top 20. Freshman Jake Albert placed T-16 at 5-under (72-70-69), while junior Josiah Gilbert finished T-20 at 4-under (73-70-69). Gilbert also recorded two eagles during the tournament, bringing his career total to 15, tied for the third most in program history.
Every player in Auburn’s starting lineup finished the tournament under par, highlighting the team’s depth. Statistically, the Tigers led the field in par-3 scoring (3.05 average) and par-4 scoring (3.96), key factors in their narrow victory.
