The mid-amateur showcase honoring the Snedeker family returns March 12–15 at the historic Dogwood Course in Point Clear, Alabama.
The Snedeker Memorial returns March 12–15, 2026, bringing an elite field of invited mid-amateur players to the historic Lakewood Club’s Dogwood Course in Point Clear, Alabama. The 54-hole championship blends individual stroke play with a unique team component while honoring the legacy of the Snedeker family and supporting youth initiatives along the Gulf Coast.
Organized by the Snedeker Memorial Family Foundation, the event pays tribute to Larry and Candice Snedeker, whose love of golf helped inspire the careers of their sons Brandt Snedeker, a nine-time PGA Tour winner and Ryder Cup player, and Haymes Snedeker, an accomplished amateur golfer and tournament chairman.
The tournament features a 54-hole individual stroke play competition with a simultaneous two-player team competition. Competitors are invited mid-amateurs who may either nominate a partner for committee approval or be paired by tournament officials.
The format encourages both individual excellence and team camaraderie, making the event one of the more distinctive early-season gatherings on the mid-amateur calendar.
ompetition will take place on the Dogwood Course at The Lakewood Club, a classic design originally created by Perry Maxwell in 1947 and recently renovated.
Stretching 7,104 yards and playing to a par of 72, the course winds through towering pines, magnolias, and century-old oak trees. Known for its rolling fairways, strategic greens, and natural water features, the Dogwood Course blends traditional architecture with the scenic beauty of the Alabama Gulf Coast.
Lakewood Club has a long championship pedigree and has hosted three USGA championships, cementing its place as one of the region’s most respected tournament venues.
At last year’s championship, Nate Smith of Tetonia, Idaho, delivered a commanding performance to win the 2025 Snedeker Memorial by six shots.
Smith posted rounds of 70-68-67 to finish at 11-under 205, leading from start to finish. His victory earned exemptions into the 2025 Palmetto Amateur and the 2026 Gasparilla Invitational.
Bobby Wyatt and Sam Jackson tied for second at 5-under, while Will McCurdy, Blair Hamm, and Shane Sigsbee rounded out the top five. McCurdy also recorded one of the week’s highlights with a hole-in-one in the final round, earning a new vehicle.
Beyond the competition, the Snedeker Memorial supports the Snedeker Memorial Family Foundation, which promotes programs that help develop youth along the Gulf Coast. The event blends elite amateur golf with charitable impact, reflecting the Snedeker family’s long-standing commitment to the game and their community.
With its inviting format, championship venue, and meaningful cause, the Snedeker Memorial continues to grow as one of the standout early-season mid-amateur events in the United States.
As the 2026 edition approaches, players and fans alike can expect another memorable week on Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
