John Daly II now leads the amateur contingent at the Puerto Rico Open after a 5-under 67.
Puerto Rico Open Amateur Tracker: Through Round 2
The Puerto Rico Open’s amateur contingent is down to three after 36 holes, and John Daly II now leads the group after a big second round. Daly followed his opening 70 (-2) with a 5-under 67 on Friday to climb to T7 at 7-under.
Kihei Akina, who paced the amateurs with an opening 68 (-4), added a 70 (-2) to sit T12 at -6. Miles Russell has been steady with 71-71 and is T51 at -2, while Carson Bertagnole, Filip Jakubcik and Evan Pena finished on the wrong side of the cut line.
