Preston Stout wins by seven shots and secures a PGA Tour start as Oklahoma State edge Arkansas by one

Preston Stout produced a dominant individual performance to lead No. 11 Oklahoma State to victory at the Cabo Collegiate at Twin Dolphin Club in Mexico.

The Cowboys erased a three-shot deficit in the final round, closing with a 276 to edge Arkansas by one shot at 22 under 830 (280-274-276). Arkansas finished runner-up at 21 under 831 after rounds of 281-270-280.

The win was Oklahoma State’s second of the season, following their title at the Fighting Illini Invitational last September, and their first Cabo Collegiate victory since 2019.

The Cowboys had previously won the event in 2017 and 2018.

Stout ran away with the individual title at 15-under 198 with rounds of 67-63-68, finishing seven shots clear of the field. The junior collected his fourth collegiate victory and was medalist at Cabo for the second straight year after sharing the title in 2025.

The win also earned Stout an exemption into the PGA Tour’s World Wide Technology Championship scheduled for Nov. 5-8, 2026.

California sophomore Ziqin Zhou (64-72-69) and Arizona freshman William Wistrand (72-67-66) shared second place at eight under.

Junior Gaven Lane was the next best Oklahoma State finisher at T-17 after a final round 66 moved him up 28 spots. His round included birdies on 12 and 13, the tournament’s first hole-in-one at the par-3 14th, and another birdie on 15.

Florida State junior Tyler Weaver, last year’s champion, finished T-11th at 3-under.

Arizona State, winners of the previous two editions, placed seventh at even par.
