Matthis Lefèvre edges teammate in all-French duel as Hatters dominate in Puerto Rico

Stetson’s men left little doubt in Puerto Rico.

The Hatters finished 15-under to claim the 2026 Dorado Beach Collegiate at TPC Dorado Beach in Dorado, winning by eight shots and securing their first team title of the spring. It marked their second victory of the season, following their triumph at the Furman Invitational in October.

Stetson posted rounds of 290-279-280 to pull clear of Southern Miss, which finished second at 7-under (293-280-284). Host UNC Greensboro, the defending champion, placed third at 4-under (289-286-285).

At the top of the leaderboard, it became an all-French showdown.

Graduate student Matthis Lefèvre claimed medalist honors at 6 under (72-68-70), edging teammate Gaspar Glaudas (72-72-68) by a single stroke. Elon’s Dylan Lewis and Southern Miss’ Benjamin Fernandez finished T-3 at 4-under.

The individual battle turned dramatic on the final day. Lefèvre began with a one-shot lead but slipped to 1 over through his first 10 holes. Glaudas surged, playing that same stretch in 4 under, highlighted by a three-hole birdie run. For a moment, momentum had shifted.

But Lefèvre responded like a closer. He played his final six holes in 3 under, punctuated by a decisive birdie at the 212-yard par-3 17th to reclaim control and seal the win. It was his second individual victory of the season, having also won at Furman.

Stetson’s depth made the difference. The Hatters placed four players inside the top-20 and led the field in par-3 and par-5 scoring, averaging 3.07 and 4.62 respectively.

They also recorded the fewest bogeys in the tournament, a testament to disciplined play.
Senior Jackson Hicks (75-70-71) and junior Simon Engman (73-70-73) both finished T-13th at even-par as Stetson controlled the week from start to finish.
