The AmateurGolf.com 2026 Pacific Grove City Championship is underway, and Round 1 produced exactly what this venue promises: early scoring opportunities, followed by a back-nine stretch that asks players to flight it, shape it, and commit with the Pacific Ocean in full view.
On Saturday, Carter Guy Hays grabbed the early lead in the Championship Division with a 5-under 65. In the Senior race, Russell Humphrey opened with 68 (-2) to lead, while Julie Hu posted a sharp 67 (-5) to set the pace in the Women’s scoring.
