LMU shoots 10-under to win in Hawaii as Trevor Alyga claims his second title
Loyola Marymount didn’t just win the John A. Burns Intercollegiate — it controlled it.
On the demanding Ocean Course at Hokuala, the Lions were the only team in the 19-team field to finish under par in all three rounds, signing for 276-276-278—830 (-10) to win by five shots. Only four teams managed sub-par totals for the week, underlining how much separation LMU created from the start.
Last year’s joint champion No. 38 UNLV and No. 32 Texas A&M shared runner-up honours at 5-under, while Utah — the other co-winner from a year ago — finished sixth at 5-over.
LMU’s depth showed everywhere. The Lions led the field with 55 birdies and added three eagles, placing ahead of seven teams ranked inside the top 42 of the Clippd college rankings. It is the program’s first team win since the 2023 Kapolei Classic.
At the top, senior Trevor Alyga delivered again.
Alyga closed with a composed 8-under 202 (67-71-64), his final-round 64 sealing a one-shot individual victory. His Saturday charge included seven birdies and an eagle — the second of his week. The win marks Alyga’s second collegiate title, following his Kapolei Invitational triumph in November 2023.
San Diego State sophomore Harry Takis finished runner-up at 7-under (68-70-65).
The individual battle shifted on the final day. Nateeshvar Anatha Ganesh, a senior at LMU from Malaysia, carried the 36-hole lead into the last round after a sharp opening 69-65, but closed with a 74 to finish T-10 at 208. Utah junior Sergio Jimenez — who fired a course-record 13-under 59 in the 2025 practice round — entered the day tied for second and ultimately finished T-7 at 3-under, five shots shy of Alyga.
Behind winner Trevor Alyga and senior Nateeshvar, sophomore Louie Liu carded a 1-under 209 to finish 13th—giving LMU three players in the top 20.

54 hole men's college tournament hosted by the University of Hawaii. Team (best four out of five players) and individual scoring.
