Louise Uma Landgraf closed with a 67 to edge Anna Ludvova by one shot at Penina in Portimão
17-year-old Louise Uma Landgraf successfully defended her Portuguese International Ladies Amateur title with a one-shot win at Penina Hotel & Golf Resort in Portimão, Portugal.
The Thai-French golfer from Phuket finished at 15-under 273 after rounds of 68, 68, 70 and a closing 67. She began the final day tied second at 10-under, four shots behind Czech leader Anna Ludvova, who had controlled much of the week and carried a 54-hole lead of 14-under 202.
Landgraf flipped the tournament in the final round with a composed, low-scoring finish on a day when the leader came back to the field. Her 67 included steady scoring from start to finish, while Ludvova’s 72 opened the door. Landgraf’s late surge was enough to edge past the Czech by a single shot, with Ludvova finishing runner-up at 14-under 274 after rounds of 66, 69, 67 and 72.

The win adds another significant amateur title to Landgraf’s growing résumé and reinforces her reputation as one of the most advanced teenagers in Europe’s amateur ranks. She first drew widespread attention in 2023 when she won the Terre Blanche Ladies Open — an LET Access Series event — at the record young age of 14 years, 2 months and 18 days. In 2024, she continued her rise by winning the British Girls U16 Amateur Championship and reaching the last 32 at the Spanish Ladies International Amateur, one of the strongest events on the European women’s amateur calendar.
Landgraf’s title defence also matters because the Portuguese International Ladies Amateur is not just another amateur championship. It is a recognised qualifying event tied to European selection pathways for the Junior Ryder Cup and Junior Solheim Cup, and typically attracts a deeper international field than most continental amateur championships. Winning it once is a marker of class; defending it, especially by chasing down a four-shot deficit on the final day, underlines consistency and tournament control under pressure.
