The Tigers clinch the UCF Challenge by four shots, led by senior Katie Cranston
Auburn didn’t ease into spring — it jumped straight to the trophy.
The No. 7 Tigers opened the second half of their season by winning the UCF Challenge at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, finishing 24-under 840 and four clear of Mississippi State, which took runner-up at 20-under after rounds of 281-280-283.
The tone was set by senior Katie Cranston, who finally turned three identical rounds into a breakthrough week. Cranston went 69-69-69 for 9-under 207 to claim her first collegiate title, holding off a late push from Mississippi State junior Avery Weed and UCF sophomore Mira Jurine, who shared T-2 at 8-under. Weed posted 70-68-70, while Jurine closed with her best card of the week, 68, after opening with 70-70.
Auburn’s win was built on depth as much as a headliner. Molly Brown Davidson produced her best finish of the season at T-4 on 7-under, Charlotte Cantonis added another top-10 at T-10 on 5-under, and Anna Davis finished inside the top 20 at 3-under. Competing as an individual, sophomore Anne Fernandez also cracked the top 20 at T-17 on even par — giving Auburn five players inside the top 20 and a team profile that looked more complete than early-season form usually allows.
Carys Worby finished further back after three rounds of 73, while Auburn’s clean scoring on the par 5s separated it from the pack across three days.
