Remembering Emanuele Galeppini: A Young Golfer With a Bright Future
January 3, 2026 | by AmateurGolf.com Staff

The Italian junior standout, 17, is remembered for his promise and passion.
At AmateurGolf.com, we spend our days telling the stories of players chasing something: college dreams, national teams, first wins, bigger stages. Emanuele was on that same path. And when we lose someone with that kind of potential, it hits differently, because we recognize the work behind it: the early mornings, the range sessions, the travel, the belief that the next season could be the one.
Emanuele was an Italian golfer living in Dubai, competing across Europe and the Middle East while building a résumé that suggested his best golf was still ahead. He was a member at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club and trained with the Tommy Fleetwood Academy at Jumeirah Golf Estates, a serious environment for a serious young player.
His results backed it up.
In 2023, he finished third at the Reid Trophy at Sandiway Golf Club in England, one of the most respected junior events in Europe, after rounds of 71-71-67, missing a playoff by a single shot. That same season, he won the Sharjah Amateur Invitational and recorded a runner-up finish at the Italian National Under-14 Championship, showing both his ceiling and his consistency.
He also appeared in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, an indicator not just of talent, but of commitment, the willingness to enter events, test yourself, and keep showing up. The record of a young golfer who was building something.
More Than Results
For those who never met him, it can be easy to read a list of finishes and move on. But anyone who has been around competitive junior golf understands what those lines really represent: a family making sacrifices, a player learning how to handle pressure, coaches investing time, teammates and competitors watching someone steadily improve.
The Italian Golf Federation described Emanuele as a young athlete who carried passion and authentic values with him. That’s the part that matters most, because it’s what lasts in a community like this.
Holding the Family Close
Our sport is big when you watch it on TV, but small when you live in it. The amateur world is a network of parents and players, coaches and tournament directors, junior teammates, college commits, and dreamers, people who know exactly how much hope lives inside a 17-year-old with a golf bag.
Today, that community mourns with Emanuele’s family and friends, and with everyone impacted by the tragedy in Switzerland.
And we also remember him the way we’d want our own aspiring player remembered: not only for what he already accomplished, but for what he was working toward.
AmateurGolf.com extends heartfelt condolences to the Galeppini family, and to everyone who knew Emanuele as a competitor, teammate, and friend.
Rest in peace, Emanuele.
