Jake Moffitt Dominates at The International Amateur at Innisbrook Resort
The International Amateur wrapped up at Innisbrook Resort after 72 holes of elite competition, again delivering a world-class leaderboard in what was formerly known as the South Beach International Amateur (SBIA).
With a deep international field tested by the demands of Innisbrook’s famed Copperhead Course, the championship crowned a standout winner and featured contenders from across the globe in the final top positions.
Jake Moffitt (United States) delivered a wire-to-wire caliber performance to capture the International Amateur title, finishing at 17-under-par (268) after four commanding rounds at Innisbrook Resort. Moffitt separated himself from the field with remarkable consistency, posting sub-70 scores in all four rounds and never allowing the championship to drift from his control.
His closing 5-under 66 punctuated a week defined by precision and composure, following earlier rounds of 68, 69, and 65 on the demanding Copperhead Course. On a layout known for punishing mistakes—particularly through the famed Snake Pit—Moffitt avoided costly errors while continuing to apply pressure, turning a competitive field into a comfortable margin of victory.
Yixiang Wang (China) finished second at 10-under-par (275) after remaining in contention throughout the week, while Ben Bolton (England) secured third at 7-under-par (278). Behind them, Cayse Morgan (United States) and a tie for fifth between Lev Grinberg (France) and William Lisle (Hong Kong) underscored the international depth of a championship ultimately defined by Moffitt’s sustained excellence from start to finish.
The International Amateur utilizes a rigorous exemption and eligibility criteria to ensure a world-class field. Invitations and exemptions are extended based on global rankings and performance in major championships, including:
The result is a deep, international field featuring a mix of seasoned collegiate veterans and the world’s most promising junior prospects.
Known for its demanding Copperhead Course—home to the PGA TOUR’s Valspar Championship—Innisbrook provides a stern test of ball-striking. The tournament’s move to this venue adds a layer of precision and endurance to an already grueling championship.
The championship has served as a launchpad for some of the biggest names in the game. In 2024, Miles Russell added his name to the trophy, following in the footsteps of Benjamin James and Luke Clanton.
With a premier international field and a championship venue that demands precision, the International Amateur once again delivered a high-level test over four rounds at Innisbrook. Moffitt’s closing 66 punctuated a complete week and sealed the title in decisive fashion.
