Ryan Terry turns stroke-play top seed into a second Mexico Mid-Am title, sealing 2026 invites after another globe-trotting season

Ryan Terry won the fourth edition of Mexico’s National Mid-Amateur Championship at Bosque Real Country Club, converting top seed out of stroke play into the title in match play.

The American led the stroke-play qualifier to earn the No. 1 seed, then beat Joaquín Argüelles, José Alonso Medina and Adrián Dultzin to reach the final. Terry then got past Carlos Haro in the championship match to lift the trophy.

The win secured Terry places in the 2026 Mexican National Amateur Championship and the 2026 U.S. Mid-Amateur local qualifier in Mexico. It’s also his second title in this championship, after he won the 2023 edition at Club Campestre Monterrey, defeating César Abis in the final.

Terry’s 2025 form has travelled. He won the 2023 Mexico Mid-Amateur Championship and won another title at the Birmingham National Invitational last month. Across 17 starts this year, he has two wins and six top-10s, including runner-up at the Trans-Mississippi Mid-Amateur, eighth at the Tennessee Mid-Am, sixth at the Canadian Mid-Am and seventh at the Stocker Cup. His schedule has taken him across the USA, Portugal, Canada, Mexico and the UK.

“I’m very grateful to the Mexican Golf Federation and Bosque Real for running events like this,” Terry said. “It makes me really happy to come to Mexico and meet people who always treat me so well. This is my fourth time playing here and I like coming back.”
Haro and host-club player Roberto Terrazas rounded out the podium and are also in line for places in the 2026 Mexican National Amateur, subject to eligibility requirements.
