Sixteen-year-old phenom Asterisk Talley dominated regionals with a bogey-free 65 and a new course record at Los Serranos.
CHINO HILLS, Calif. — November 14, 2025 — One of junior golf’s brightest talents added another landmark performance to her résumé on Thursday. Sixteen-year-old Asterisk Talley, already a fixture on the national stage after a runner-up finish at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur and a share of low-amateur honors at the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open, dominated the CIF-SCGA SoCal Girls Regional Championship with a bogey-free 9-under 65 at Los Serranos Golf Club (North).
The round wasn’t just good enough to clinch the regional title—it set a new competitive course record, further cementing Talley’s status as one of the most explosive young players in the country.
A Record-Breaking Charge
Talley wasted no time creating separation. Early birdies at the 1st and 3rd moved her into red figures immediately, and she carried that momentum through a clean, steady front nine to make the turn at 3-under.
The back nine, however, was where she delivered the knockout punch.
Talley went 5-under in a four-hole stretch, highlighted by back-to-back eagles on Nos. 12 and 13—including a hole-out from the fairway that ignited the crowd and vaulted her into the lead for good. Sitting at 7-under with challengers still within reach, Talley closed like a seasoned pro, adding birdies on 16 and 18 to post a course-record 65 and capture the regional championship in emphatic fashion.
